An interesting video is making it’s way around the net. It is actual gameplay footage of the upcoming Killzone3. Unfortunately the quality of video is not good and there is no audio and Dick Tracey is standing in the way in the beginning (security??). Anyway you can still get a good idea on how great this game will be and the detail on the gun is amazing even on such a crappy video.

That’s right and they couldn’t wait until E3! to announce it! So here’s what we know so far. According to SCEE’s James Gallagher:
Killzone 3 picks up where its predecessor left off and it’s a much grander experience in terms of scale and ambition. There will be more variety, more enemy types, massive environments and a broader vision of the planet Helghan and its many terrains. The presentation closed with a beautifully violent video montage of the Brutal Melee attacks, which are the new close range attacks.
James asks Herman Hulst, managing director at Guerilla Games, about the community’s feedback he had this to say:
As you may know, we are always in close contact with the Killzone community,” he said. “The response to Killzone 2 has been fantastic but there is a general response that it had too many ‘corridors.’ We have to temper that with the knowledge that many players really enjoy that gameplay style. Our plan is to solve this dilemma with huge variation in gameplay styles.
“We had plenty of variety in Killzone 2 but much of it was introduced in the second half of the game. This time around, right from the start every new level has its own distinct feel.
Continuing:
The level playable at the show was set in an arctic environment and introduced a number of new gameplay elements. One of the most eye-catching is the new jet packs: first you must fight off three Jetpack Troopers, who are quick and heavily armed. Once you defeat them, you discover a spare jetpack that you can strap yourself into. It works like an exaggerated jump, allowing you to soar high into the air and use the forward thrust twice before having to land, and opens up the possibilities for platforming and aerial combat.

Sony is launching a pre-emptive strike on publishers trying to simply port over their existing Wii games to the PS3 and it’s Move peripheral, according to examiner.com. Smelling easy money it’s only natural that these publishers would do so. However, in an interview with Gamasutra, SCEA’s publisher relations head Rob Dyer had this to say:
Now, are there going to be things like that? Sure. We’ll do everything we can, whether it’s up-res, add trophies, and do things and make it network-only so you don’t see it on a disc, but at the same time, we don’t have to approve it if we don’t want to go down that path.
Later in the interview when asked about games that have been lead designed on the Wii he answers:
If it’s day and date. If it’s day and date, we’ll work with them on it. If it’s a port, then we’ll move it a step, to the network. Unless it’s something that they’ve done an incredible amount of adjusting… We want to be a one-to-one experience.
The Wii doesn’t have a camera. We’ve got a camera. Use that camera, implement that in there. A lot of these guys don’t want to. They just want to use the accelerometer and say, well… No. Not gonna happen. It doesn’t work that way. Put the camera in there, make it work with that, get your trophies, up-res is, put some more content in, come on down.
If this pans out then these are some very reassuring words since there have been concerns about shovel ware for the Move. For the full interview click HERE.

As stated in the title Zipper will be releasing more DLC for MAG on the 29th of this month. Oh and just like the other DLC it is free. Yes that’s right FREE! Definitely can’t go wrong with that. So what is in this new batch of goodies. According to the Playstation.Blog and Jeremy Dunham / Sr. Community Manager, Zipper Interactive it will consist of:
First, we’re adding three brand new Special Edition Sniper Rifles (Raven’s HM 90 SE, SVER’s SASR M, and Valor’s MK 14 Mod 1 EBR) that include a number of performance adjustments and visual variations to our already-popular long-range weapons. Second, you can expect to get your hands on a collection of new armor types! All three factions can now choose to equip Improved Light Armor in their loadouts for the bargain price of just 400 in-game credits.
So there you have it a whole bunch of great updates I am definitely looking forward to the improved light armor. Anyway, the update will be available on April 29th when the Playstation store updates in your area.

Last night Sony released a mandatory update, 3.30, for the Playstation 3. In this update it adds all new features, most notable for trophies. Here’s what was in the update.
In addition, this update preps the PS3 system for some upcoming new features, including 3D stereoscopic gaming, which is coming soon to PS3, in time for the launch of Sony’s 3D BRAVIA TVs.
As for hidden features, I’ve read on another website, that this update also upgrades the flash player on the browser.

It’s not common for a manufacturer to push a firmware update that removes a system capability; but that’s exactly what will happen with today’s v3.21 update for the PS3. No, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke. Update v3.21 will remove the option to install another operating system (aka Linux) on the fatty PS3’s; an option that was already removed on the Slim versions. SCEA’s Patrick Seybold explains on PS Blog that the removal of the option is necessary "due to security concerns … [and] will help ensure that PS3 owners will continue to have access to the broad range of gaming and entertainment content from SCE and its content partners on a more secure system."
This update push may be in response to recent claims of “hackery” that you may remember and seems like a preventative measure on Sony’s part. Although this update will not affect most of us PS3 users, I’m sure there some that are cringing as they read this. Either way, it’s a small price to pay to access PSN from now on.
