Sony has just announced that they will be updating the store on the 28th with two new Uncharted 2 downloads.
First, the Skin pack. For $4.99 you’ll be able to get your hands on a very unique skin pack which includes “Playstation heroes”. Straight from their news:
The PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack contains seven new skins featuring some key personalities from other major PlayStation first-party titles – Sev and a Helghast soldier from Killzone 2, Nathan Hale and a Chimera from Resistance 2, and Cole (both good and evil variants!) and Zeke from inFAMOUS.

The second download that will be available in the store is a DEMO of the single player game for Uncharted 2 for those of you (do you actually exist?) that haven’t yet bought the game of the year for 2009

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that it has donated $25,000 in aid to the victims of the tragic Haiti earthquake. The money was raised with the help of Everquest, Everquest II and Free Realms players via purchasing special in-game items. For every item purchased — each item was priced at $5 — Sony Online Entertainment donated $10 to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief & Development Fund. The total amount, raised over the course of only three days, will aid in sending much needed supplies, relief workers, and financial support to the grief-stricken nation. Fantasic job to all those who contributed., well done!
PS3 Digest readers who want to help those in Haiti can find more information by following this link. Also keep in mind that all DLC proceeds for Behemoth games go to the Red Cross this weekend.

George Hotz, a member of the first team to unlock the iPhone, has claimed in his blog that he has hacked the PS3. He says:
I have read/write access to the entire system memory, and HV level access to the processor. In other words, I have hacked the PS3. … 3 years, 2 months, 11 days…thats a pretty secure system
Check out his blog entry here: http://geohotps3.blogspot.com/2010/01/hello-hypervisor-im-geohot.html
What does this mean for us? Who knows yet.. but I’m sure Sony is scrambling to figure out what this guy has discovered so they can try and patch it! The PS3 still stands as the only Pirate-Proof system (despite what some of those spam bots and websites would like to claim – they’re full of viruses and identity theft schemes!!)

A company called TechRestore had some fun when tearing down the new PSP-Go by filming it stop-motion style. I’m sure you have seen teardowns before, but probably not like this. Stop-motion teardowns are a lot more interesting than a series of photos. Don’t believe us? Check out the video after the break.

I have a great internet connection. Usually anywhere from 28-35 MB/s down and about 5 to 10 up… but one day I just had an idea. A ‘what if’ type thing. I said to myself “what if I weren’t anywhere near a WiFi or other broadband connection”?
Here’s what you’re going to need:
1. A 3G phone with unlimited data and the ability to tether to a computer to share its internet connection.
2. A Windows 7 laptop / computer with a built in WiFi adapter.
3. Connectify configured for infrastructure mode.
4. Your PS3 and a monitor (or video in on your computer)
Here’s what you do:
1. Turn on internet sharing on your phone and plug it into your PC.
2. Open Connectify, configure your ‘infrastructure’ router settings (SSID and Passcode) and start the connection.
3. In your PS3, goto System>Network Settings and create a new network connection to the SSID of the Connectify WiFi router.
4. Sign in.
Watch the proof after the jump..
